guestbook?
what do you think about this for an idea? Instead of a guestbook we buy some white matting for a photograph, divvy it up into squares, and have each guest sign in a square, then when we get our wedding pictures we can frame one of them with the matting with all our wedding guests' signatures and use it as a focal point in an arrangement. It wouldn't sit in a closet collecting dust at least. ;o)

Yep, great idea. Certainly beats a 95% empty guest book that gets tossed in a box.
I agree, its a great idea and like your mom said beats the 95% empty book in a box.
At a wedding I attended, there were disposable cameras on all the tables. The guests were invited to take pictures of the ceremony, each other, and anything they thought might make a funny or interesting photo.
Looking at her wedding album a year later, it seemed as if, for every Official Wedding Party photo present, there were two or three shots just as good, or sometimes better, from the guest cameras.
At my nephew Brandt's memorial, my sister had a person taking the picture of everyone as they arrived and signed the guest book. She later make a memorial book that had the pictures of all the attendees who'd come to honor Brandt's life.
I want to make sure we get shots of everyone, but I think it's going to be small enough that won't be hard. I thought about the disposable camera thing, but it seems like practically everyone has a digital camera these days. *lol* we have two of them we'll probably lend to people for the duration of the wedding.
Definitely a neat idea! If you did that with the "guest book" would you have another one signed by everyone in the wedding party?
