The December update!

Well, we are back home and now getting ready for Christmas.

The honeymoon was a lot of fun. We spent two days in vancouver before heading down to Mexico. We spent a week in an all-inclusive resort that we left twice...once to go shopping in Playa del Carmen and thesecond time to go swimming with the dolphins at Xel-Ha. We then made it back to Vancouver for Kimberly to go to a conference for work and me to go shopping at Ikea.

The trip back was the only downside to the entire adventure. The plan was scheduled to leave Cancun early in the evening and arrive at Vancouver at around midnight. Instead the plane got delayed, and then redelayed! So we landed at Vancouver at 8am for Kimberly to start her conference at 7.45...so she was just a touch exhausted.

Then last Thursday (December 6) we finally got to see some wedding photos. With all of our friends having cameras (or so it seemed!) there were no pictures sent to us! So when our photographer dropped by with his album and the disc with all the pictures we finally got to see ourselves!

Kimberly has posted a chunk of the pictures on facebook, both of the wedding and the honeymoon...so if you are on Facebook let one of us know so that the connection can be made and the photos can be viewed.

But for those of you not on 'Crackbook' as one of our friends described it:

This is the view from the balcony on our room. The resort is not huge (250 rooms) and was quite spread out so there was a view of many trees instead of a wall of walls...

This is Kimberly with a monkey on her head. Not sure it needs much more an explanation...but in Playa del Carmen one of the street vendor types had some animals that he would offer to tourists so that they could have their photo taken with them.

So that is why Kimberly has a monkey on her head.

This is Xel-Ha, which apparently is a Mayan term for where the river meets the sea. So basically it is a mangrove estuary that has some wonderful swimming areas, beautiful cenotes and lets you swim with the dolphins.

Speaking of which:

They are quite affectionate when bribed!

And they can give you quite a push!

This started with me lieing flat in the water and a dolphin pushing on each foot...it ended with me standing up as you can see and splashing down and swallowing lots of water because I was laughing.

Nice clear skies in November in Canada? Who knew?

We got dressed up in the afternoon and spent an hour or so downtown in the area where the wedding venue is. It was fun :-)

And here is the wedding venue!

You can probably guess which ones we are :-)

So that is the quick update with a few photos. We are slowly getting back into life as per normal and I am hoping I will be able to post another entry before Christmas...

Thank You!

The wedding went smoothly and Kimberly and I had a great time.

So thank you to everyone who helped out and made sure!
Thanks to the caterers for some wonderful food.
Thanks to the photographer for being fun and professional.

We are heading off to Vancouver tomorrow for two days and then a week in Mexico for the Honeymoon.

Hopefully the next little update to our blog will have photos! At the moment it is impossible for us to post any as we have none! We had other things on our mind than taking photos and hence we are waiting on friends to send us some...or on the official photographers snaps.

So soon...hopefully :-)

And thanks to everyone for their wonderfully generous present giving. Kimberly and I are truly amazed at the 'wedding swag' we were given.

Thank you.

One Day to Go!

We are almost there!

Just the last minute rushing around to do and we are good to go.

Hopefully today I can find time to play the Mario Strikers Charged game that the people at my work bought as a wedding gift. They really caught me by surprise for the lunch they planned! So cool.

So we shall see how we go...our house is going to be fairly central for a lot of the wedding planning and partying so I do need to spend some time tidying up :-) Hopefully the cats do not get too stressed out by the constant stream of people (and by cats I mean Circe because the kittens are going to love it).

Kimberly and I also found time to sign up to Facebook this week...so if you get a request from someone who looks like they had resisted the lure of the dark side for a while...yes it is us...

That is all for now, hopefully we will find time to update soon after the wedding!

The list gets smaller...

So tonight Kimberly and I journeyed out to Terri and Steven's for dinner (Baked salmon and many side dish vegetables...delicious!) and after dinner we went to Joan Hoffman's house to discuss the vows and ceremony.

It did not take long at all...oddly enough we had done some homework (and by we I mean Kimberly did most of the work and I chipped in with some comments) and the whole process did not take long at all.

So yet another thing crossed off of our to do list :-)

Weddings Bands all organized!

Last Friday Kimberly and I headed over to check out Kimberly's wedding band and make sure it was exactly what we (well...she) wanted.

Thankfully it turned out exactly as envisaged and Kimberly also got her engagement ring back!

So the Wedding Rings are safely held at the Jewellers and we just need to pick them up before the big day.

As an update to the rest of the goings on:
We have booked a hotel for a two night stay in Vancouver before the Honeymoon.
We have booked a night in a hotel here in Victoria for our Wedding Night.
I am in the middle of finalizing the Bar for the Wedding.
Kimberly has arranged her hair appointment and style for the Wedding.
The Wii is still getting played a lot and Kimberly is hooked on 'My Sims'
The Kittens are growing still and are still mainly crazy!

Not long to go now :-)

Tuxedo Time!

So Chris and I spent a lunch hour getting the Tuxedo's picked out and ordered...and so all we have to do is remember to pick them up before the wedding!

So for those of you not sure which one of us is which...I will be the one wearing the vest :-)

The wedding is getting closer and things are starting to really pick up, thankfully the major ones were taken care of a long time ago! We have a venue and a caterer and a photographer and a dress for Kimberly and a guest list and flowers.

Now we just need to do the little things!

And some more done!

Well, we are getting the wedding bands organised. Mine has been picked out and is ready to go. Kimberly is currently engagement ringless as hers is being created. So Kimberly is wearing her promise ring on her engagement ring finger...it looks a little...well...different.

But it is definitely in a good cause!

Kimberly has had her first dress fitting and things seem to be moving smoothly there. Of course I have not seen the dress and have had nothing to do with the fitting sessions so I am just passing on what I have been told!

The search for a tux is moving along, I am probably going to be fairly traditional with mine (and Chris said that he is wearing exactly the same...so he does not care...) and I will probably get on that for next week.

On a non wedding note...it is my birthday! Well, I am posting this on the Saturday and the Sunday is my birthday. But Kimberly took me out to dinner last night and gave me my present! She gave me a Wii! So we started playing...and 3 hours later we realised how much time had passed...So much fun :-)

And we also got our first Wii injury! Kimberly had bent slightly to get set...and one of the kittens decided to jump and climb up Kimberly...so she has some scratches and claw marks on her back...Not exactly a normal Wii injury hey?

But then...do we ever do things normally?

Part of the reason for getting presents early is that Sunday is Canadian Thanksgiving, so Happy Thanksgiving and much Turkey to all!

And the other reason is that we are having a few friends over tonight (Saturday) and hence having the Wii could make for some interesting times :-)

And as for the rest of our life? The house is doing fine, the kittens are fine, Kimberly is enjoying her work and I am going to be searching for a new job soon as the Office I work in is being closed at the end of the year and all operations moved to Castlegar...and I am NOT moving to Castlegar...

Normal life? What is that?
